Gucci Authenticity Guide

Official site

Complete authenticity guide for Gucci fragrances — Guilty, Bloom, Flora, Mémoire d'une Odeur, and the full Gucci fragrance collection.

SOURCE REVIEW PENDING Physical-marker text in this legacy guide is being migrated to linked evidence. Use it as an investigation checklist, not a verdict.

Batch Code Decoder

Where to find it: Printed on the bottom flap of the box and on the base label or stamp of the bottle.

Reported format: 6–8 alphanumeric characters. Gucci fragrances are licensed through Coty (since 2016). (e.g. 3G14B2, A24C01, 4H206)

Authenticity Indicators

These observations can support a review, but no single indicator proves authenticity.

Gucci logo and GG monogram

Authentic Gucci fragrance packaging uses the interlocked GG monogram with precise proportions. On genuine boxes and bottle elements, the loops of the two Gs are perfectly symmetrical and the line thickness is consistent. Fakes have slightly asymmetric or differently proportioned GG marks.

Bloom bottle design

The Gucci Bloom bottle is a clean, rectangular white glass bottle with a cream-colored cap. The glass is thick and the white color is consistent throughout. On fakes, the white is either too bright (bluish-white) or uneven in opacity.

Guilty bottle design

Gucci Guilty uses a distinctive square bottle with rounded corners and a gold-tone metal cap. The glass should be clear with consistent thickness. The GUCCI engraving on the bottle is deep and precise on authentic pieces.

Box quality and typography

Gucci fragrance boxes use a specific serif typeface for the Gucci name and product title. The printing is crisp with no ink bleeding. On premium lines, the box has a soft-touch finish. Shiny boxes or fuzzy text indicate counterfeits.

Cap material and finish

Gucci fragrance caps are either heavy lacquered plastic or metal depending on the line. The cap should seat evenly with no tilt. The finish (matte, glossy, or metallic) must be consistent with the product specification. A hollow-sounding, light cap is a counterfeit sign.

Reasons to Investigate

A red flag calls for more evidence; it is not a counterfeit verdict on its own.

Asymmetric GG monogram

The interlocked GG logo is one of Gucci's most closely guarded design elements. Any asymmetry, wrong loop proportion, or incorrect line weight in the GG mark is an immediate counterfeit indicator.

Made outside France or EU

Gucci fragrances are produced in the EU under Coty. A non-EU country of manufacture is a counterfeit flag.

Bloom with wrong cap color

Authentic Gucci Bloom has a specific cream/ivory cap — not pure white, not beige. If the cap color looks noticeably off, the product may be counterfeit.

Off-scent Bloom

Gucci Bloom should open with tuberose, Rangoon creeper, and jasmine — a rich, white floral accord. A thin, sweet, or synthetic floral opening without the distinctive tuberose character indicates counterfeit juice.

Extremely low price

Gucci fragrances retail from $80–$200+. Prices below $30 on informal sellers or marketplaces are almost always counterfeit. Gucci does not authorize significant discounts.

Safer Places to Buy Gucci
