Research intake

Contribute evidence

The useful contribution is not a code by itself—it is a reproducible claim with a source, date, market and known exceptions. Catalog additions and corrections can now be prepared as structured local evidence packages.

Phase IX / structured catalog research

Move from a blank template to an auditable intake folio.

The studio validates field support, checks likely duplicates, previews correction redlines, saves locally, and exports a portable JSON draft.

Traceable

Link the brand document, archived page, packaging image or research source behind the claim.

Reproducible

Explain the exact character positions and test the rule against more than one known example.

Permission-aware

Only share images and documents you created or have permission to redistribute.

Catalog review queue

Useful evidence

  • • Official brand or manufacturer documentation
  • • Dated packaging photographs with market information
  • • Multiple known codes demonstrating the same rule
  • • Archived sources showing historical formats
  • • Authorized-retailer listings from the brand itself

Not sufficient alone

  • • “Mine looks like this” without a source
  • • Marketplace seller claims
  • • AI-generated explanations
  • • A single code with no purchase context
  • • Cropped images with unknown ownership
